Frequently Asked Questions
How much water do I need?
You can calculate your water needs using our Water Storage Calculator.

Where should I store my emergency water tank?
We recommend placing your emergency water tank in a cool, shaded area such as a garage, basement, utility room, or shed. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, as UV exposure can shorten the lifespan of any plastic container over time — even though our tanks are UV-resistant.
Our tanks are designed to fit where others can't — for example, our 300-gallon tank fits through a standard doorway and takes up less space than a chest freezer. That makes it ideal for tight indoor areas where temperature stays more consistent year-round.
Are your tanks BPA-free?
Yes, but all of our water tanks are made from BPA-free, food-grade materials.
Can I use these tanks for rainwater collection?
Yes, our tanks can be used for rainwater collection — many customers do! However, please note that we don’t currently sell the fittings or adapters needed to connect them directly to a rainwater catchment system. If you plan to set up a rain collection system, you may need to source compatible downspout diverters and filters separately.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes, we offer fast, reliable shipping across the lower 48 states. Every order is packed with care
and shipped using trusted carriers to ensure your tank arrives safely and on time.
If you're located in Utah, we also offer free local pickup — a great option for saving on freight
and getting your tank sooner.
How do I clean the tank before use?
Before using your tank for the first time, we recommend giving it a simple rinse and sanitation to ensure it's clean and ready for safe water storage:
Rinse the inside with clean water to remove any dust or particles from manufacturing or shipping.
Sanitize by filling the tank with water and adding 1 teaspoon of unscented household bleach (5–6% sodium hypochlorite) per gallon of water.
Let it sit for at least 30 minutes, then drain completely.
Rinse thoroughly with clean water one final time before filling with potable water.
This process ensures your tank is fresh, disinfected, and ready for long-term emergency storage.
How long can I store water in your tanks?
Stored water can last up to 12 months if kept sealed, cool, and away from sunlight without any kind of water treatment.
Do the tanks come with fittings or accessories?
Yes! All Emergency Water Tanks are shipped fully assembled, with fittings and spigots already installed.
There’s no complicated setup required — simply clean the tank before use, fill it, and you’re ready to go.
